Forestry Mulching is at the core of what we do at Coastal Vegetation Management. With over a decade of experience, we deliver professional, large-scale vegetation clearing using purpose-built branded mulching equipment—designed for performance in tough Australian conditions.

The process involves cutting and mulching vegetation in a single pass, returning organic material to the soil as a coarse ground layer. This not only improves site access and fire safety, but also reduces erosion, retains moisture, and supports long-term land health.

Forestry mulching is a fast, efficient, and cost-effective alternative to traditional clearing methods—eliminating the need for burning, carting, or waste disposal. It’s ideal for fire mitigation works, right-of-way clearing, mine and plantation maintenance, weed and regrowth control, and bushfire rehabilitation.

Our specialised fleet includes rubber and steel track machines with low ground pressure and the ability to operate on steep, uneven terrain. Each job is matched with the right machine, ensuring maximum output and minimal site impact—no matter the vegetation density or land size.

Firebreaks are cleared mineral earth tracks, typically established around the boundary of a property, and are a legal requirement set out by local governments through their annual Bushfire Control Notices. Their primary purpose is to provide a buffer zone to slow or stop the spread of fire — and, just as importantly, they allow safe access for emergency services and firefighting vehicles during bushfire events.

At Coastal Vegetation Management, we tailor our approach to suit the site conditions. In softer soils, we use tractor-mounted rotary hoes for fast and effective clearing. In rocky or more compacted terrain, we deploy heavy machinery with blades or buckets to establish compliant and accessible firebreaks that meet all regulatory requirements.

Grass slashing is one of the most effective ways to manage overgrown vegetation and reduce fire risk—particularly across larger rural properties, vacant land, and development sites. At Coastal Vegetation Management, we provide slashing services for all land sizes, from small residential blocks to extensive agricultural holdings and commercial land developments.

Where conditions allow, we prefer to use flail mowers and mulchers, which deliver a cleaner, more even finish than traditional rotary slashers. However, for uneven or difficult terrain, our conventional slashers still offer a reliable solution. Slashing leaves the cut material on the ground, which breaks down naturally over time.

With a fleet of versatile equipment—including compact front-deck machines and larger agricultural tractors—we can access a wide range of sites to help clients meet local government regulations and prepare their properties ahead of the bushfire season.

Commercial Weed Spraying is a highly effective vegetation control method, particularly in areas where mechanical clearing isn’t practical or permitted. At Coastal Vegetation Management, we deliver targeted spraying solutions using both selective and non-selective herbicides—tailored to suit the site conditions, vegetation type, and long-term management goals.

Our licensed operators (certified through the WA Department of Health) apply industry-approved chemicals with precision and care to minimise environmental impact and ensure lasting control of invasive or nuisance plant species.

Whether you require a once-off treatment or a tailored year-round maintenance program, we can develop a spraying schedule to suit your property’s needs—from rural and roadside locations to commercial landholdings, firebreaks, and utility corridors.

Orchard & Grove Pruning is the newest arm of Coastal Vegetation Management’s commercial service offering—developed in response to growing demand from WA’s tree crop sector. With the only dedicated mechanical pruning unit of its kind in the state, our team now offers fast, professional, and highly efficient pruning solutions to commercial orchards and large-scale growers.

Led by a specialist operator with decades of industry experience, our pruning services are tailored to suit a variety of tree crops, row spacings, and seasonal objectives. Whether you’re managing canopy height, improving light penetration, or preparing blocks for harvest or redevelopment, we’ll work with you to plan and execute a solution that suits your property.

Our equipment is purpose-built for orchard use, with adjustable cutting heads and a compact footprint that ensures safe, accurate work—even in tight rows. We’re also able to integrate pruning and mulching schedules, using our existing fleet of machines to streamline site clean-up and optimise productivity.

With seasonal scheduling underway and limited availability during peak windows, we recommend contacting us early to secure a booking or arrange a site visit.
