How we operate

Coastal Vegetation Management provides tailored vegetation and fire mitigation solutions across Western Australia’s most demanding sectors — including mining and resources, renewable energy, government and infrastructure, emergency services, and agriculture. Each environment brings unique challenges, and our role is to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable outcomes that protect assets, people, and the land itself.

Our strength lies in understanding the operational priorities of every industry we work with — compliance, efficiency, environmental care, and continuity of service. Through this sector-focused approach, we continue to deliver projects that meet the highest standards of safety and performance, regardless of terrain or conditions.

❋ Compliance

We work to government, mining and infrastructure standards, with compliant systems, trained crews and site-ready equipment.

❋ Efficiency

The right equipment, planned scheduals, to deliver results without downtime or rework.

❋ Environmental Care

Vegetation managed with consideration for land, assets and long-term outcomes.

❋ Continuity of Service

Built to support ongoing programs and repeat works where consistency matters.

Local Government

We have built long-standing partnerships with local governments, shires, councils, and emergency service agencies across Western Australia. Our work supports proactive fire mitigation, asset protection, and community safety — combining extensive experience, specialised equipment, and fast response capability.

From routine firebreak maintenance to large-scale vegetation reduction programs, our operations are tailored to each site’s terrain, access, and environmental conditions. We carry out firebreak installation, parkland clearing, reserve & vacant block management & seasonal commercial weed-spray programs that reduce regrowth before it becomes a risk.

Our fleet includes purpose-built machinery for every scale of vegetation control — from compact rubber-track posi-track machines for precision slashing to high-horsepower forestry mulchers and our CAT D1 dozer for heavy-fuel-load reduction. As an approved DFES panel contractor, we are regularly called upon to mobilise equipment for active fire response and post-fire recovery, where our team works alongside emergency crews to restore access and stabilise affected areas.

This combination of preparation, response, and recovery capability allows us to deliver a complete fire mitigation service — one that local governments trust to protect infrastructure, safeguard communities, and maintain compliance with their bushfire management plans.

Mining

Coastal Vegetation Management provides specialised vegetation management, clearing and rehabilitation services across active and developing mine sites throughout Western Australia. Our work supports critical operational safety, land preparation, asset protection and environmental compliance across a range of mining environments — from new construction areas to end-of-life site rehabilitation.

With inducted personnel and compliant vehicles and equipment, our team is equipped to operate under the strictest site requirements. We mobilise quickly, work autonomously and maintain full alignment with mine-site safety, communication and procedural standards. Where additional accreditations or standards are required, we are able to obtain and meet these as part of our mobilisation planning.

Our mining capabilities include vegetation clearing for new site development and infrastructure upgrades; mulching and reduction of historical timber stockpiles; rehabilitation mulching for sites transitioning out of production; and targeted weed-spray programs designed to reduce vegetation loads and maintain compliance across operational areas.

Depending on the scope, we deploy machinery matched to the site — ranging from compact machines for detailed access work through to our high-horsepower Fecon 600 for heavy vegetation, rehabilitation material and dense regrowth. Every project is planned around terrain, safety requirements, seasonality and the environmental expectations of the site.

Our strength in the mining sector lies in understanding how operational, environmental and safety priorities intersect. Whether the requirement is clearing to support new development, rehabilitating legacy vegetation areas, or maintaining safe access around key assets, we deliver solutions that meet site standards while improving long-term land stability and compliance.

Renewable Energy & Solar Farms

Coastal Vegetation Management supports renewable energy operators across Western Australia with specialised vegetation management and asset maintenance services tailored to solar farms, power infrastructure and energy transmission environments. Our work helps maintain operational efficiency, fire mitigation compliance and long-term asset protection across both new (initial site preparation) and established energy facilities.

Across solar farms, we manage vegetation under and around panels using compact, low-impact machinery designed to protect sensitive infrastructure while achieving effective fuel-load reduction. Each site is assessed individually to determine the safest and most efficient approach, factoring in panel height, tracking movement, structural layout and seasonal conditions. Our teams are experienced in navigating variable panel configurations, allowing us to adapt machinery and methodology from one farm to the next.

We also deliver vegetation clearing and maintenance for energy corridors and access routes, including visibility and firebreak control around mandatory signage, placards and easements. This includes powerline and gas pipeline vegetation management, where maintaining clear line-of-sight and reducing fuel loads are essential for safety, inspection and ongoing asset performance.

As part of integrated site maintenance, we provide carefully controlled commercial weed spraying to reduce regrowth following mechanical works. All herbicide programs are planned according to environmental and asset sensitivity, with strict exclusion around solar panel surfaces where chemical residue poses a risk.

In addition to vegetation services, our team conducts solar panel cleaning to improve efficiency and reduce dust-related performance loss. Using water-managed cleaning systems, we support annual and seasonal cleaning programs and are continuing to invest in purpose-built equipment to meet the growing demand for renewable asset maintenance.

With experience across multiple large-scale solar projects and energy-related easements — including APA gas pipeline corridors — Coastal Vegetation Management offers a reliable, safe and compliant service model that supports the long-term performance, accessibility and fire resilience of renewable energy infrastructure.

Agriculture, Orchard & Grove Pruning

Coastal Vegetation Management provides specialised pruning, mulching, and tree management services for commercial farms and private growers across Western Australia. Our operations are fully mobile and designed to support the long-term productivity and sustainability of tree crops including citrus, olives, avocados & nut trees.

At the centre of our services is our Afron pruner, purpose-built for efficiency & precision. As one of the only fully mobile pruning services in WA, we travel across all growing regions to deliver large-scale pruning programs that help maintain orchard & grove productivity. We prune in rows and can side, top, and skirt trees with accuracy, helping to restore uniformity.

Following pruning, our forestry mulchers can process all in-row tree material back into mulch, creating clean, accessible rows and returning valuable organic matter to the soil. This dual-service approach — pruning and mulching — allows growers to maintain clear row access for fertiliser application, spraying, and harvest operations while improving soil health and moisture retention.

In addition to tree maintenance, our team is also experienced in selective orchard removal, safely and efficiently mulching entire rows or sections of trees that are no longer viable or require replacement. This process minimises soil disturbance compared to traditional removal methods, maintaining the site’s ecological balance and preparing the ground for future planting.

We understand the timing, precision, and adaptability that agriculture demands. Our goal is to complement the work of growers with efficient, high-quality mechanical services that enhance farm productivity, protect soil structure, and deliver long-term results.
