Access Corridor Clearing for Local Government.
Creating Safe Access Through Dense Vegetation
Project Overview
Maintaining safe access through heavily vegetated land is an important part of preparing sites for future development, emergency response and ongoing land management. Working on behalf of a local government authority in Western Australia, our team was engaged to widen an existing access corridor through dense vegetation, creating a safe and accessible route for operational vehicles while supporting future planning for the site.
Delivered within a clearly defined environmental scope, the project required selective vegetation removal while preserving surrounding areas identified by the client.
The Challenge
Years of unmanaged vegetation had significantly reduced the width and usability of the existing access track. Dense regrowth, mature trees and heavy understorey restricted vehicle movement and limited emergency access should the site ever be impacted by bushfire or other incidents.
The objective was not broad-scale land clearing, but the careful expansion of an existing corridor that balanced access requirements with responsible vegetation management.
Our Role
Purpose-built forestry mulching equipment was deployed to efficiently process dense vegetation and larger tree material while producing a clean, stable finish across the corridor. A combination of large-scale and compact mulching equipment allowed the works to progress efficiently while maintaining control in tighter sections of the alignment.
All vegetation removal was undertaken strictly in accordance with the client’s approved clearing limits, ensuring the project remained compliant with environmental requirements and the agreed scope of works.
Project Outcome
The completed corridor now provides significantly improved access for operational vehicles and emergency services while supporting the client’s longer-term vision for the site.
The project was completed safely, within the programmed timeframe and to the standard expected by the client, leaving a well-defined access route ready for ongoing land management and future development activities.

Industry Perspective
Creating access through heavily vegetated land is rarely about removing the maximum amount of vegetation. The most successful projects balance access, safety and environmental responsibility, ensuring only the vegetation necessary to achieve the project’s objectives is removed.
Early access corridor planning also reduces future maintenance costs, improves emergency response capability and establishes infrastructure that can support future land management or development.
Every site is different. Every solution should be too.
Effective vegetation management begins with understanding the purpose of the land. By tailoring our approach to each site’s operational, environmental and long-term objectives, we deliver practical outcomes that support both today’s requirements and tomorrow’s plans.
